Scrunchies have been around since the 80’s as nightclub singer and pianist Rommy Revson was looking for an alternative to metal hair ties, They were a huge success in the 80’s and 90’s and were seen on many celebrities back then and even on Phoebe from Friends during the earlier seasons[i]. It’s proven to be a fashion staple, but can they also benefit you during workouts and sports activities? Absolutely! They are important factor to maintaining your hair healthy especially during workouts.
Have you ever tied your hair on a ponytail with a rubber elastic or some other type of cheap elastic and then went for a workout at the gym or played some sports? Do you remember when you took off that elastic and you saw so much hair on the elastic and the back of your hair hurt? Yup, I’ve been there. Especially since I started getting older, I also started to lose more hair. Cheap elastics are enticing to buy because they come in a set of 10 or more for a super cheap price. But that’s it, they are cheap, you pay for what you get.
Since switching to silk elastics, I haven’t had any issues. Silk scrunchies not only complement my outfit I wear to tennis but they also provide other hair benefits. Let’s look at the benefits of silk scrunchies.
I will be offering 100% mulberry silk scrunchies in a couple of months in different sizes and colours, so be sure to sign up for my newsletter and follow me on Insta to know when they will launch.
In conclusion, silk scrunchies are by far the best for providing support, comfort, and style during a sweaty workout. They provide a secure hold, are gentle on your hair and add a touch of style to your outfit.
